Saying goodbye to those that are most precious to me is never easy, and knowing the future holds many mysteries can be a scary concept. I found an old magazine pictorial of AdultDex 1996, which used to be held during the ComDex Show before the turn of the Millennium. Both shows are gone now, neither has been held in many years. Although AdultDex is just a memory now, it was one of the earliest Adult Shows to merge technology with Adult Entertainment. It was a different era, the Adult Entertainment Industry was still a small, tight knit community, where everyone knew each other, good or bad, we were a family of Erotica, right before the lid blew off, and the industry became a global phenomenon. I miss those days, in a way for the sex biz, there was still a degree of innocence, wonder, unknown, what will come next was always right around the corner. The glitz, glimmer, and newness has faded, although we have come a long way in the past 22 or so years, for those who were at the beginning of the Cyber Sex Era the memories still linger. I hate to say it, but it's like closing the door on a bygone era of the future of Erotica. Whatever we do, keeping the wonder alive is what we all need to strive for, it's what keeps us moving into the future, but in venturing towards the future, it is good to embrace the past.
