Hell’s Kitchen-Set Austin to Debut Off-Broadway

Edla Cusick’s Austin, about two brothers living in Hell’s Kitchen, will debut Off-Broadway starring Thomas G. Waites (All My Children) and James McCaffrey (Rescue Me).
Performances of Austin are set to begin July 23 at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row, with an opening night scheduled for August 4. Ed Setrakian directs a cast that also features Rochelle Boström, AJ Cedeño and Michaela Waites.
Waites stars as Austin Cassidy, a recovering alcoholic who moves back into his childhood home in Hell’s Kitchen, with his brother, played by McCaffrey. “In Austin, two brothers discover what the hell of Hell’s Kitchen really is,” state production notes. “Their world quickly turns upside down with the arrival of a young counselor from Austin’s rehab, who comes to help Austin create a garden in the neglected back yard.”
