Keith Rupert Murdoch was born on March 11, 1931, on a small farm 30 miles south of Melbourne, Australia. His father Keith Murdoch was a well known war correspondent and newspaper publisher. He owned local and regional newspapers in Australia, the Herald in Melbourne, the Courier Mail in Brisbane the Sunday Mail and the News. Rupert as he was most commonly known attended Worcester College at Oxford University in England in 1949.
Murdoch has also invested heavily in sports with ownership in the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers as well as the Staples Center and creating FOX Sports Radio and FOXSports.com.
Murdoch has been widely criticized for attempting to monopolize control over media divisions worldwide, and also for his conservative political views which are constantly reflected in his conservative news network FOX News Channel. Murdoch’s News Corp. and 21st Century FOX Inc. have a significant influence on much of the the television programming, films, radio stations, and internet content that people consume worldwide and it is the feeling of many including myself that through his media manipulations Murdoch has created much of the polarisation within this country and even internationally. There is no doubt of what his political views are and how he has incited much hatred, racism and separatism within the United States with FOX News and his radio networks constantly pushing a conservative agenda. He is among the super rich and supports this ultra rich conservative minority that have a constant need for more of everything at the expense of human suffering globally. He is like the last of the great Robber Barons who monopolized business and squeezed the life out of their competitors until only their views became relevant, treating the working man as a slave with little or no representation or recourse. How his media outlets manipulate the poor and the ignorant among us so that when it is time for the common man to cast a vote and to have a say in their destiny they end up voting for those that have an agenda that diametrically opposes their own interests.
Reporting the news is most definitely one of the most important parts of the communication and media process. Having all of the quantifiable facts to draw one’s own opinion and to make educated decisions for what is good for each and every one of us and not just the few privileged individuals who constantly claim their interests are in line with those of the little guy is of the utmost importance, provacating individuals to act in one way or another. What Murdoch is essentially doing is brainwashing the weak minded, empowering the bullies and disseminating racism throughout our country. Through these carefully orchestrated mechanisms and his vast propaganda network he is able to change certain people’s perceptions of reality, harnessing the fear of government, the onslaught of immigrants who they claim are destroying our country, the perpetuation of inequality, racism, sexism, and an assault on the middle class.
Murdoch knows exactly what he is doing and has honed his skills as a master manipulator for decades. Through his minions within his monopolistic organizations he has subverted what is just and fair throughout the world. He has turned neighbors friends and allies against each other. He has spread a course of hatred and mistrust among a population that should be trying to solve their problems together and among them rather than driving more of a wedge between fellow countrymen and creating a chasm between Americans which seems to grow wider and more distinct all the time.
Keith Rupert Murdoch is one of those people that will stop at little or nothing to satisfy his course and agenda and will do it with a ruthlessness and insensitivity with no thought for humanity or for creating unity among mankind. Only by creating rifts between populations can he and those of his ilk disguise their misdeeds and create lies that become truths. Only through misdirection and deception can these moguls who have as little care for humanity as they do for a bug beneath their feet to get populations to turn against each other. How amazing it is that so few can influence so many to choose a path that brings us further into the abyss, how they can create underlying tensions, fears and resentments. Imagine if a man like this used his power and reach to bring people together, to bridge the ever increasing gaps between mankind, to shine a fair light on evil and poverty. Imagine instead of shining light on our differences he brought up and enhanced our similarities, our wants, our needs, our desires, our dreams, how much better could things be if men like this tried to pull us together rather than tear us apart. He has the ability to change the world for the better right in the palm of his hand. All through the power of broadcasting.
